The Baggage of Wealth

Wilson had been reading an essay of philosophy and what is simply the accumulation of wealth in relation to your happiness and content. It basically means that once you have found enough reason to buy something, that reason cannot solely by your raison d'etre. You must then ask again, will you have a more meaningful life with it? or won't you?

then the balls started spinning.

it worries Wilson deeply about the impact of having material wealth. We are consumed by it, obsess constantly bout it. And jealously over protective about it. And finally, we are imprisoned by the things that should make us live more conveniently

Just one bag becomes another bag. Then it became more bags for a specific event. and before you know it, you end up with a collection of bags for the most specific mundane task, like for instance, taking your lunch to the office.

When you already have an office bag.

When you can put your lunch box in your office bag.

Wilson, the ball, is privy to such weaknesses of the bags. And as such he usually blames it on Marketing. And the constant bombardment of advertisement and shopping mall tempting us to part with our hard earned cash.

Marketing is partly to blame, it's true. But like dieting, the energy, the effort to stop eating and consciously monitor what we at when every is freely indulging is what makes us intellegent, resource saving human, who surpasses much bigger fiercer creatures from the Ice Age.

He has also wondered, what about if he doesn't own so many items and instead of a jumble of mishappen bags which were  "Once in a Lifetime" purchases

The mind is strong, but the body is weak. and he feared that all he will end up with is just eliminating that one lunch bag. but he is optimistic that it will be the start to a less wasteful living.

At the very least, it'll free up the space for a new DVD player.....
